HEDGECOCK POLL: VOTERS OVERWHELMINGLY FAVOR PETERS

A special thanks to all of you who called to personally congratulate Scott on his strong showing in the recent NBC Channel 7/39 debate. The response from the community to Scott's performance in that debate and other community forums has been overwhelming. When the candidates are compared side-by-side, it's clear that Scott is the choice for City Council.
This past Thursday, Scott and his opponent again squared off, this time on KOGO's Roger Hedgecock Show. Once again, Scott showed that he has a superior command of the issues and truly understands what it's going to take to reduce traffic, manage growth, clean up our beaches and bays, and get our City's budget back on track.
During the Hedgecock debate, KOGO listeners participated in an Internet and a phone poll. The results: on the Internet, 57% voted for Scott; on the phone, 84% voted for Scott Peters. Even Roger was surprised!

FUNDRAISING GOING STRONG... MUCH WORK LEFT TO BE DONE

Last week, the San Diego City Clerk's office released the first pre-election campaign disclosure reports. The report showed that Scott continues to lead in financial support from the community, despite a massive influx of cash for Davis from the Building Industry Association. The reports also showed that Scott has significantly more available cash -- $39,128 compared to $9,163 for Davis.
Scott's campaign has come on strong over the last several weeks. All signs indicate that he's heading towards victory on Election Day. However, this victory cannot be secured without your continued financial support.
Please step up now. With the election only three weeks away, Scott needs each and every one of you to take the lead in raising funds to help him get his message out. Don't wait to be asked, call campaign fundraiser Jean Freelove at 858-481-0300.
