Scott Peters, a lawyer who specializes in environmental law and a new member of the Diamond Gateway Chamber, is a candidate for the San Diego City Council, District One seat.
He said he envisions a bright future for his children in San Diego and it is his intention to fight to achieve that vision "by ensuring our region's growth is properly planned to preserve our high quality of life, that our neighborhoods and schools are safe and free from violence and that our city's finances are sound."
Since 1985, Scott has practiced environmental law, representing businesses and local governments on infrastructure issues. He actively volunteers within his community as a trustee of the La Jolla Town Council, president of the Friends of the La Jolla Library, as a member of the public working committee for the Lindbergh Field Master Plan and as vice president for Citizens Coordinate for Century 3.
