Former City Council Candidate, Lisa Ross, endorses Scott Peters for City Council District 1

San Diego, CA -- Former city council candidate and neighborhood advocate Lisa Ross today announced her endorsement of Scott Peters for City Council District 1.

"Our next City Council member will face big challenges -- including completing SR56 with appropriate connectors, protecting open spaces like Penasquitos Canyon and getting the city's financial house in order," said Ross. "We must elect a person with the ability to get those jobs done. That is why I am endorsing Scott Peters."

"It is clear to me that Scott has a much firmer grasp of the complex, financial, political and planning issues that will shape the future of our city. I am confident that Scott has the understanding of these issues and ability to solve the difficult problems presented to the Council or work out sensitive compromises," said Ross

"I am gratified and honored to have the support of Lisa Ross," said Peters. "Lisa has been a leader in protecting our quality of life, especially in Carmel Valley, Del Mar Heights and Rancho Penasquitos. I will greatly value her experience, counsel and help in the coming months," added Peters.

"I believe Scott can be trusted to help get the city finances in order. He understands that San Diego cannot continue spending more than it takes in and that it's time to make our neighborhoods streets, sewer lines and parks a top budget priority," Ross explained. "This is why Scott is the right person to represent the interests of District 1 on the City Council."

Scott Peters is a graduate of Duke University and New York University School of Law. Along with his private law practice, Scott is a trustee of the La Jolla Town Council, member of SANDAG's Integrated Waste Management Citizens Advisory Committee and a member of the public working committee for the Lindbergh Field Master Plan. Scott and his family live in La Jolla where he coaches youth soccer and baseball.
